In this workshop, we'll use watercolor and popsicle sticks to create a layered abstract art piece. Kids will learn patterns, how to apply watercolor and design their stick art. Turn it into a keepsake and add it to the wall!
Children ages 3-5 will explore different art making mediums and techniques such as play-dough, printmaking and paint. Fine and large motor skills will be engaged while working with tools, brushes, bottles and our bodies.
What is process art? Process art is about exploring different mediums and fostering creative expression. The goal is not a completed art work, but an experience. Cognitive stimulation is provided in developmentally appropriate ways, fostering self esteem, problem solving, and creative thinking.
Kids will learn the steps to making a one-strand bead bracelet. They'll discover the tools and materials to string their beads and finishing techniques to create a new piece. All materials included for use.
Kids will learn how to make art with a simple house hold item- buttons! Hot glue will be used and how to use the tool properly will be taught. Kids will apply buttons and use choice to place each button to create the butterfly design. (Other stencil designs will be available.)
Kids will discover mixed media art by creating art using newsprint, paper scraps and paint. The result in a strong visual piece for display. This workshop is for ages 6-14 and will be adjusted for younger ages.
