Shelley
Creative Director
Shelley is an educator and creative entrepreneur with more than twenty years of experience serving students, training teachers, and supporting leadership teams. Throughout her career in education, she cultivated a passion for modern crafts as a way to foster balance, creativity, and joy.
In August 2019, she brought her vision to life by opening CRAFT + LIGHT on 2nd Street in Naples, Long Beach, California, blending hands-on creativity with professional learning experiences. When the COVID-19 pandemic required a rapid shift to virtual programming, Shelley successfully expanded her reach, and since then she and her team have taught more than 7,000 participants a wide range of creative skills.
Today, Shelley curates high-quality creative activations and experiences for families, schools, corporate teams, and community organizations. Her work has included collaborations with organizations such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and PayPal, as well as partnerships with the City of Long Beach and the Long Beach Black Health Collaborative.
With a strong commitment to community and innovation, CRAFT + LIGHT continues to design creative experiences that inspire joy, connection, and meaningful engagement. In her free time, Shelley enjoys relaxing at the beach, biking along the coast, cooking, and spending quality time with her husband and family in Southern California.
